And I just got the DVDs of "Fortunes of War." I'm looking forward to watching them even more after your endorsement.Ceciliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14246412838930258990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7639104039967253280.post-84735576380005880812011-02-17T01:02:45.868+11:002011-02-17T01:02:45.868+11:00I took speed reading in University...'using it...I took speed reading in University...'using it to great advantage to achieve a major in English. Sadly though, ever since I've found it hard slow down enough to really enjoy fiction. Instead I kind of inhale non fiction...re-reading so often I tend to have entire passages committed to memory. Efficient but joyless. How refreshing to read your account of the the way you enjoy your library!Sel and Poivrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05675373771037014713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7639104039967253280.post-65950460499973143992011-02-16T23:52:54.614+11:002011-02-16T23:52:54.614+11:00Oh my! I too can't remember details and often read the end first. if I know where I'm going then I enjoy the getting there. And I was just about to write down The Man Who Loved Children on my 'to read' list when I read your word dense. Like your book club members, I'm lazy so it didn't go on my list.Brendaknitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05810199856912743651noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7639104039967253280.post-16802415247683142732011-02-16T20:05:15.771+11:002011-02-16T20:05:15.771+11:00i've just looked up Olivia Manning on audible....i've just looked up Olivia Manning on audible. The Man Who Loved Children was a first year text and I was gobsmacked by it and at the end of my degree read For Love Alone which is a real stand out in my mind. Thanks for sharing it!

You have such wonderful books to talk about Lyn, books I've either never heard of or read or perhaps are books I've never been sure of reading. Please write more posts like this.

I will look up Fortunes of War.
