I've finished a new top for the dotee.
It's the nth degree of cuteness - some lace, some gathers, and a rather old-fashioned candy pink. It has stripes of colour on the yoke and at the hem to slightly offset the sweetness of the top.
The pattern is 'Fiona's Top' by Sanne Bjerregaard and the yarn is Morris and Sons' Empire 4 ply trimmed with Knitabulous's sock yarn.
I'm hoping it will go some way towards replacing the frilled cardi (ravlink) that I'd knitted for the dotee, but that I lost in Brisbane when visiting her the weekend before last! I managed to leave the cardigan in a taxi, and despite several phone calls to try to trace it, was unsuccessful in finding it.
So, Ana Maria's new top is off to Brisbane. I've also bought some bright lipstick pink Jaipur cotton to make a summer cardigan for her, so I'm seeking suggestions for suitable patterns for a cardi for a two to three year old.

ooh it's adorable! I love the trim.
And you lost the cardi? Oh my. I hope whoever found it loves it to pieces. Not literally, of course.
oh noes the cardie lost?!?!!?
So sad - but hot pink cotton sounds great!!
the top looks amazing and the colours go so well together
Quelle Horreur! That is such a shocking loss. You are bearing it remarkably well. And the new top is delightful. Enjoy this period - before you know it she will be almost as tall as you and the knitting will be a lot more arduous. Ask me how I know...
The top is just delightful but what a shame about the cardi.
This is so very sweet & cute.
I hope the cardi finds a home where it is loved
You already know how much I love this top!!
I will see if I have any suitable cardi patterns, I've got a couple of toddler books.
Beautiful - and rather like the Olive top i'm going to make for ME ME ME.
So sad re the lost cardigan, though it doesn't beat the fingerless noro sock mitts I made last year - finished on Sat, lost on tram on Mon. Oh well, but I feel your pain.
sooooo cute! so bad about the loss tho, except obviously someone else thought it was worth having.
Gorgeous!
Your Fiona top looks lovely. As for suggestions for a toddler cardigan, I have twice made the children's neck down bolero top . It is from knitting pure and simple , pattern # 275. It is easy , one piece and was worn loads by my granddaughter.
